I graduated with a 1st in software engineering and always had a passion for tech. I was working part time at a supermarket alongside studying and was looking for job opportunities so that I can apply my knowledge into practical work and gain work experience within the field.

Having applied to many jobs my application was successful at CTA and now I’m working as an associate consultant on client projects.

After graduating with a degree in biology and hobbies in art and sport, I was unsure where I wanted my career to go. After finding CTA, a job where you received full training, support, and hands-on client work, I couldn’t pass it up.

I’m now working with a big four client doing performance testing on one of their largest public sector projects.

I graduated with a 2,1 in Chemical Engineering but wasn't certain it was the field where I wanted to pursue my career. While deciding what I wanted my future to look like, I joined a tech network group and started attending events which peaked my interest in various tech roles.

Having no experience in the industry at the time, I began looking for junior/entry tech roles where I could steadily grow and learn within the company, which was when I was given an opportunity within CTA.

I am a chemistry graduate and have a master's by research in Astrophysics, and although the two seem nothing to do with tech, most of my masters was spent working on code to figure out the brightness of stars captured by the Hubble Space Telescope.

After a brief stint in recruitment I was excited to go back to a career I could use my technical skills in. I was incredibly lucky to be trained by CTA as a Quality Engineer and I’m now working on projects for a large consultancy business.

Upon completing my master's degree in Environment and Development in 2019, I was uncertain about my career path. However, during the COVID lockdown in 2020, I used my free time to teach myself programming fundamentals and discovered a passion for it.

This led me to pursue a career in tech and seek out a role that would allow me to develop my skills in a commercial learning environment. CTA provided the ideal opportunity with on-the-job training and support, and I am now working as a back-end developer in public services.

My journey in tech began with taking old desktops and laptops from friends and family, and making them fully functional again by replacing the operating system with Linux. This then led to developing an interest in programming, creating basic applications and, eventually, the desire to work in tech. I then pursued a STEM degree to turn a hobby into a profession.

CTA has been instrumental in helping me transition into the industry. As someone whose previous work experience included kitchens, warehouses, and admin work, CTA’s training has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to hit the ground running. I now work for a leading global brand as a Quality & Test Engineer, automating tests for new and existing systems.
