As we navigate an era dominated by technology, the demand for skilled programmers extends beyond just developers to a multitude of other technical roles. This bootcamp is the launchpad you need to leap into an exciting and rewarding career in tech!
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, giving people the opportunity to build up sector-specific skills and fast-track to an interview with an employer.
This Skills Bootcamp in Programming Fundamentals is an intensive 3 week full time programme, with opportunities for interviews and employment in the North Yorkshire / York area.
What I’ll learn:
Introduction to IT
Agile and Scrum, and how software is delivered
Roles in tech – roles and responsibilities
Computer Fundamentals – binary, character encoding
Networking fundamentals
Command Line
Version Control
Git, branching and merging
The rudiments of Coding and basic computer programming
Statements, operators, expressions, types, control flow
Methods, classes, objects, basic OOP
Further Programming
Design Patterns
Working with complex codebases
Using frameworks and libraries
Test Driven Development
Job readiness
Job search techniques
CV writing
Linkedin authoring
Interview practise and tips
How things work:
Apply; complete aptitude test; short interview
Complete full time training
Training starts with 2 classroom days in Leeds and continues online
Training is 5 days a week, 09:00 - 16:00 with time for lunch and breaks
Training involves lecture based video calls, individual work and assessments, tests, and opportunities for reflection and feedback
An individual Skills Assessment and Learning Plan is included
CTA supports you in finding interviews and a related role in the North Yorkshire and York areas.
